Energy Internet is a centralized and distributed multi-energy system dominated by the grid, supported by renewable energy, based on electricity, and supplemented by other energy sources.

As the construction of Energy Internet advances, the development of the power industry has become deeply integrated and inseparable from information and communication technology.

Under the aegis of the State Grid Hubei Electric Power Research Institute in Hubei province, central China, the international standard Requirements for Power Infrastructure Monitoring System Based on Internet of Things has been released. This is the first International Telecommunication Union Telecommunication Standardization Sector (ITU-T) international standard for the State Grid Corporation of China.

The standard underwent four years of drafting, two rounds of approval voting, and multiple rounds of international conference dialogues and communication before its release.

It mainly regulates the interaction between energy flow and information flow in Energy Internet, enabling systematic monitoring of power facilities across the entire spectrum of power system generation, transmission, distribution, and transformation. This takes power operation and maintenance to a new stage of intelligent operation and maintenance.

For example, it can discover and investigate hidden dangers before a fault occurs, implementing the principle that prevention is better than cure. Through a unified language of the Internet of Things, this standard allows the "scouts" deployed on various types of power equipment to have a uniform uniform and command.

This not only marks the official release of the first international standard of its kind formulated by China but also means that the standard scheme dominated by Chinese technology has filled the international gap in the ITU-T power Internet of Things.
