During his 15 years in China, Italian sinologist Michele Ferrero has been steadfast in promoting scholarly research on cultural exchanges between China and the West. Through reams of translation, he has made great contributions to education and mutual understanding between China and Western countries, along with broadening knowledge of Latin and Western Classics, which he has been teaching at Beijing Foreign Studies University (BFSU) since 2009.
"Be part of the Plan" is the theme for this year's International Day for Biological Diversity.Science and Technology Daily (S&T Daily) reporters visited the Xishuangbanna Tropical Botanical Garden (XTBG) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in Yunnan province in southwestern China, where they witnessed the joint efforts of scientists from China and abroad to preserve biodiversity.

The upgraded version of the International Web Portal of Beijing (https://english.beijing.gov.cn/) was officially unveiled on March 28. The website focuses on enhancing the development of a center for international exchanges in Beijing, offering information release, public services, consultation and communication channels. In 2017, Rwandan student Samuel Ntakirutimana, currently a postdoctoral researcher at Tianjin University (TJU), came to Guangzhou for the very first time, excited at the prospects of starting a new life studying in China. He referred to Guangzhou, one of the largest cities in south China, as a "dynamic and vibrant place" with many skyscrapers and crowds of bustling people. Since then, Ntakirutimana has been furthering his studies at TJU in Tianjin and gained a deep understanding of China.

In China's scientific community, female researchers are increasingly supported and provided with a flexible environment in which gender equality is well-recognized and implemented. Three foreign female experts shared their perspectives on how China is opening more doors for women in the sci-tech field.
Professor Francis Gregory Snyder is an internationally recognized expert on food safety law, WTO law and EU law. He served as dean of the Law Department of the European University Institute and Honorary Professor of the London School of Economics and Political Science, and is now chair professor at School of Transnational Law, Peking University.
"China's relationship with Ethiopia has been strong for over 50 years, and it has been further strengthened by the Belt and Road Initiative, which has led to increased collaboration in various sectors, including infrastructure, economy, and cultural and social development. I also benefit greatly from the close bilateral relations," said Fayisa.
China's domestically developed tonne-class large unmanned transport aircraft recently completed its maiden flight in Shandong province, marking a significant advancement in the field of high-end unmanned aviation equipment.
It is necessary to promote the opening up and sharing of scientific research infrastructure, make good use of multilateral mechanisms, and establish and improve international open sharing platforms, Chen Jiachang, China’s vice minister of science and technology, said at the Open Science International Forum, part of the 2025 Zhongguancun Forum Annual Conference, on March 28.
