The "Charming Guangzhou" online channel, the first comprehensive information service platform for foreign talent in Guangzhou, was launched at the 2024 Convention on Exchange of Overseas Talents and the 26th Guangzhou Convention of Overseas Chinese Scholars in Science and Technology on December 24, 2024.

The channel, jointly developed by the Foreign Talent Research Center of the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security and the Guangzhou Municipal Science and Technology Bureau (Guangzhou Foreign Expert Bureau), is one of the first city-specific channels to be launched in China.

It has an all-English interface to provide comprehensive information services for foreign talent.

In addition, it will cover a variety of content on foreign talent's living, working, traveling and studying in Guangzhou, including cityscape displays, authoritative policy interpretations, lifestyle information releases, employment opportunities, and advice from other foreign talent.

The channel will also integrate its 60,000 registered users in 150 countries and regions around the world, creating a new network linking global talent in Guangzhou.

It will also hold an online job fair for foreign talent on ChinaJOB (jobfair.chinajob.com) for a month.

In recent years, Guangzhou's appeal to foreign talent has been on the rise. It has been listed in "Charming China — the Most Attractive Chinese Cities for Expats" for many years in a row, while the number of foreign talent working in Guangzhou has increased by 32.4 percent compared to the end of 2019, ranking third in China.
