The China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS), to be held in Beijing from September 12 to 16, will spotlight engineering consulting and construction services.

According to a media briefing, there will be over 120 offline exhibitors and 229 online participants from both domestic and international construction sectors. About 54 percent of the exhibitors are Fortune 500 companies and industry leaders.

A key feature of the exhibition will be urban renewal– integrating technology and green development concepts to optimize urban spaces and preserve cultural heritage. Projects such as the redevelopment of the Shougang Industrial Park in western Beijing and the protection and utilization of the modern industrial heritage in Jingdezhen, east China's Zhejiang province, will be showcased, demonstrating a commitment to preserving historical memory while revitalizing urban areas.

The fair will also highlight the evolution of smart construction through the integration of AI, 5G, and the Internet of Things technologies. The focus is on smart construction technologies and their integration with industrialization, emphasizing the importance of digital and green innovations. Another highlight will be the use of networked, informational, and digital tools in urban construction, including smart construction site management and innovative applications in commercial real estate. It will also demonstrate the advancements in building safety, health, livability, convenience, and sustainability.

Innovations such as intelligent construction platforms, autonomous machinery, and advanced building robots will showcase the significant improvements in construction efficiency and cost reduction. The fair will be a platform for designing, construction, consulting, supervision, development companies, intermediaries, technology service providers, research institutions, and trade associations.

An innovative exhibit deserving mention is an integrated digitalized system that keeps track of roads damaged during the day due to vehicles, maintains an online record, and then arranges staff to repair them at night. This is an example of the transformative advancements in China's construction industry in an era of industrialization, digitalization, and green technologies.
