On August 22, China's SA750U, a domestically developed unmanned transport aircraft with a load of more than three tons, successfully completed its test flight on August 22. The flight marked a significant milestone in the evolution of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and underscored China's growing influence in the global logistics sector.

During the 40-minute flight test, the aircraft's system equipment functioned optimally. The aircraft maintained a smooth and stable flight profile, and the performance index met design specifications.

Developed by Hunan Shanhe Huayu Aviation Technology, a drone maker in China's central Hunan province, the SA750U cargo drone boasts impressive specifications that position it as a potential game-changer in cargo logistics.

With a maximum takeoff weight of 7.5 tons and a top cruising speed of 308 km/h, the aircraft can operate at altitudes of up to 7,300 meters. These standout features allow it to navigate above obstacles and adverse weather conditions, making it a versatile solution for logistical challenges worldwide.

The SA750U cargo drone also offers a long-range flight capacity, capable of covering up to 2,200 km, further enhancing its potential for long-range deliveries. Powered by a 900kW AEP100-A turboprop engine independently developed by China, and along with its comprehensive performance, has helped the SA750U cargo drone reach international active advanced levels for such UAVs.

He Qinghua, chairman of Hunan Shanhe Huayu Aviation Technology, said, "SA750U unmanned transport aircraft can be modified for different scenarios, and the aircraft has strong adaptability." The aircraft has the characteristics of fast loading and unloading of cargo, unmanned and efficient airdrops, and wide adaptability of take-off and landing sites, he said.

Taking forest firefighting as an example, the SA750U uses the pressure water injection method, and can fill up with four tons of water in about three minutes. It is able to fly at ultra-low altitude in the fire area, and has the ability to carry out rescues at night.

The successful flight of the SA750U is the latest in a series of developments, showcasing the rapid advancements in China's drone technology. Earlier in August, another Chinese company tested a drone with a two-ton load capacity.

According to U.S. drone industry insider DroneXL, these advancements push the boundaries of drone technology in China. Industry experts believe that cargo drones like the SA750U could revolutionize logistics by reducing delivery times and transportation costs, particularly in remote or hard-to-reach areas.
