Sichuan Sets Up Service Platform for Foreign Experts

The Sichuan Service Alliance for Foreign Experts has recently been established to provide a service platform for foreign experts in Sichuan province, southwestern China. The platform will enhance technological and cultural exchanges, and provide work and life support, so as to attract more foreign talent to participate in Sichuan's innovative development.

The alliance is a non-profit cooperation organization jointly initiated by 81 higher education institutions, research institutes, enterprises, medical and financial institutions.

In recent years, Sichuan has been simplifying the procedures of applying for work and residence permits for foreigners. In addition, seven national demonstration bases and 61 provincial bases for attracting talent people have been built in Sichuan.

To better play the important role of foreign experts in supporting technological innovation, since 2022, the Science and Technology Department of Sichuan Province has implemented a R&D project for foreign experts, which has involved more than 20 foreign experts leading research projects.

Foreign experts have made outstanding contributions to Sichuan's key technology breakthroughs, modern industrial development, college construction, and youth talent cultivation. In the past five years, six foreign experts in Sichuan won the Chinese Government Friendship Award, meanwhile more than 30 foreign experts won the Tianfu Friendship Award.
