China and the UK held an industrial cooperation dialogue via video link for the first time on June 9.
Xiao Yaqing, China's minister of industry and information technology, said that industrial cooperation between the two countries led to a win-win situation for both parties and great achievements have been made.
China is willing to deepen cooperation with the UK in policy coordination, standard fusion and technologies in fields such as new energy vehicles (NEVs), digital economy and green manufacturing, said Xiao, adding that China is ready to jointly promote the stable and unimpeded industrial chains and supply chains, and create an open, fair and non-discriminatory market environment to further reinforce the foundation for bilateral industrial cooperation.
Kwasi Kwarteng, UK secretary of state for business, energy and industrial strategy, said that the industrial cooperation dialogue is of great importance for both countries to realize targets for carbon and emission reduction, drive the development of NEVs, and promote digital industrialization. He also expressed hope for more pragmatic cooperation between the two countries in the future.
A document regarding achievements of the first industrial cooperation dialogue was signed by both parties at the meeting.
