    IMF Lifts Weighting of RMB in SDR Currency Basket

    The International Monetary Fund announced on May 14 an increase in Chinese RMB's weighting from 10.92 percent to 12.28 percent in the Special Drawing Rights (SDR) currency basket after completing a quinquennial review. The updated basket weights will come into effect on August 1, 2022.
